The first night of class we dive right in with still life drawing.
Walking into a college art class can be intimidating. Most of my students haven’t picked up a paintbrush since elementary school. My advanced students make sure to calm their nerves and tell them it is like riding a bike, the muscle memory comes back and you dive into a world of art creation that is all your own.
I teach Introduction to Studio Arts at Alaska Pacific University each semester. In this course you will learn still life drawing, portraiture, landscape, watercolor painting, acrylic painting, oil painting, and 3-D Design. We feature your work in a student art show for the community at the end of the semester. If you are interested in taking the class you may take it audited (no grade) or you make take it for course credit. Contact Alaska Pacific University admissions at 1-800-252-7528 or register here.
